    hi all,

    my girlfriends dell vostro 1710 has had a screen accident and am looking around for a spares or repair to try and replace/fix....

    theres a 1700 on fleabay, is it the same screen???...FINISHES TODAY!

    P.S. OR any ideas regarding a screen that may fit? am UK based...

    1700 or 1710? Slightly different model. And did you just have a cracked screen?

    hi there..

    no my girlfriend charged it overnight wrapping the lead around and semi closing the laptop.

    this was the only way to get the (old) lead to work and it burned half the screen!!!

    Thats obviously not a LP171WX2, its a "compatible"

    You're almost always better off buying a used screen in this situation. If not better than definitely not worse off.
