    Hello!

I know there have been some similar questions in the past, but mine is quite theoretical. Sorry if it seems dumb. So what do you think, if I had a laptop with usb3 interface, would it be possible to control the laptop's monitor through that port? I have heard there are usb3 monitors already. I thought of something similar to writing a video card driver that receives the signal through the usb3 port and controls the video card..., of course the laptop has to be turned on while this happens.

Would it be possible? I know there are programs that do the same thing - controlling the monitor of the laptop - via network connection. Only this is much slower than an usb3 port - refresh rate would not be enough for games for example.

I don't know quite what you are after?

What makes you think the latencies of the network stack are worse than the USB controller for this kind of activity?

    Also length is an issue.

I'm probably reading it wrong, but you can't control the monitor on most notebooks - you can only (possibly) control external monitors attached to the system.

Unless you have/know/can modify a notebook properly to expose it's monitor inputs, this seems like an exercise in frustration?
