any1 know if there is a good software firmware utility out there that i can buy to unlock the region setting of my DVD drive permanently, so that i can play any DVD from any region without switching the region ? i've already switched the region code once, so i have 4 more to go.

yet another contraption conjured up by businesses to keep the end users on a leash....this region code BS is....

so when i travel i have to change the region code again and again until my last straw and then have to find a work-around.

With AnyDVD, you won't have to switch the region setting at all.

quite right. but before you buy anydvd, make sure your DVD drive is not that of Mats***a (panasonic). It wouldn't work on panasonic drive.
I know I have UJ-210 Blu-ray drive, and won't work there to remove region setting. If you have toshiba, it will definitely works
