Will a Hitachi travelstar 7k100 100GB 7200rpm drive work/fit in the v5000z? I found one for $186 from Newegg and am wondering if this would be a possible upgrade. The notebook I'm getting ready to buy will be a v5000z with: ML-40, 1 GB DDR333 from newegg and 256MB from HP, ati X200M 128MB, 15.4" bright option and hopefully the travelstar 7k100 100GB 7200rpm hard drive.

Also, is the Broadcom b/g speedbooster option from HP any good? I'm thinking about getting a linksys WRT54GL router and putting the DD-WRT firmware on it so I can enable speedbooster and increase the transmitting power.

    Any thoughts/experiences would be appreciated

    Yes, it will fit.

As for the memory, everyone here will agree that you'd be better off getting the least amount required and then upgrading it yourself. It's easy plus you can always take advantage of the Turion's PC3200 capabilities.

Speedbooster is nice, but don't expect a huge increase in speed. I know I can't really tell a difference.
