Hi,
I`m new here so I don`t know where is the best place to ask my question...
I havw a sony vpcf11ggx/b and its display is 1600x900 and I want to replace it with a 1920x1080 display.
Is it possible?
What I need to do this?
( sorry for my bad english)

Unless Sony makes a version of your specific notebook that has the screen resolution you want, I would say it is almost impossible.
You have to consider that it is not simply the panel that controls a monitor. There is also the inverter and CCFL tubes, not to mention the notebooks BIOS needing to support the higher resolution screen too.
All is not lost however: simply buy an external monitor at the resolution you need: not only will this be cheaper and guaranteed to work - but you won't risk trashing your notebook either. Of course, the downside is that you won't have the resolution of the external monitor as a 'portable' option.
If you really need the 1920x1080 display 'portable', then a new notebook is the best option you should be considering. -
thank you
I think I should wait to buy a new laptop some years later.....
anyway, thank you for your help -

You're welcome, though I hoped others would chime in here with their opinions too.
I am not the last word in screen replacements, after all.
