    I just did a clean install on my hp dv6000t and when i got to the part where i can delete the harddive partition, i chose to delete "disk 0 partition 1" and "disk 0 partition 2 (vista recovery)". upon deleting it i clicked on "New" and when i got to the part where it's asking me how much disk space, it only went up to 152GB (my laptop has 160GB). after the installation was completed i checked my harddrive and it only has 149GB! if you look on the pic below you can see that the capacity is 160GB but it only says 149GB next to it.

    useless post the companys saying 160 gb like this
    1000kb=1mb,1000md=1gb,etc in reality
    1024kb=1mb,1024mb=1 gb, etc
    so the total space is less

    cool, sounds good to me. that's actually what i thought the first time, but i kinda doubted it because 11GB is a lot to lose so i guess i got a little bit worried. thanks for the replies.
