    vostro 1500 add 8400M GS

    Is there any gotcha's adding a 8400m gs out of an Dell Inspiron 1520. Can I just plug it in or are there some thermal grease etc items to be concerned with.

    I'm assuming you want to upgrade from the X3100...?

    Gotcha...you cannot upgrade from the X3100.

    How come? It is an option when you buy one new actually there are a few card options besides the integrated?

    Because when you get the integrated gpu you get a whole different kind of motherboard than when you get a dedicated gpu.

    If you got the dedicated gpu, then yes the cards are in a slot and swappable. But the motherboard with the integrated gpu does not have such slot.
