im looking to get a new dell vostro 1500. the price difference between these two CPUs is $80. im planning on getting 2GB of RAM and the 256MB nvidia 8600m GT.

also, whats the difference between these CPUs(performance wise) besides processor speed? they both have 2M of cache and 800mhz FSB but there has be some other difference because of the naming convention.

the laptop will be used for newer games, so with that in mind, is it worth it for the extra $80?

CPu does not matter when it comes down to gaming. Another thing is that penryn is supposed to come out and the vostro is penryn compatible. Penryn is cheaper faster and according to some reports has a faster FSB.
