You should be able to find a spare adapter in any computer store that can buy from fujitsu siemens or just look it up on some online store. I think you don't even need to give your laptops serial number (like most hardware selling stores require) but just the exact name of your model to find the right adapter.

Have you tried just leaving it out to dry for a couple of days?

Might want to try to put in the adaptor in a bag of rice overnight.

The rice will draw out as much moisture as it can - if it fixes it - cheap fix!

    Good luck.

The biggest problem with buying a non-original adapter is making sure that the power socket will fit. Most power jacks on notebooks are proprietary, and if you don't get a properly fitting one, it simply won't work. If you can get one with the proper power jack and the same voltage, wattage, and amperage, it'll probably be alright.

I wouldn't recommend opening up the adaptor housing. (It probably will not be fit to be put back together afterwards).

Judicator, also, don't forget to make sure you have the right polarity for the power jack too in your list.

All these little details make me want to order an 'original' instead of taking a chance on one that might or should work with the associated restocking fee charges if it doesn't. Not to mention the possible damage that can be caused if the V,W,A and polarity don't match the notebooks requirements.

    Cheers!

I would just leave it out and let it dry for a few days... don't try opening it up... if it doesn't work then , buy an original OEM adapter or buy a universal charger...

Check out JacobsParts Inc.'s AC Adapters.

After mine broke, i ordered one from them for about $25 i think, vs. HP's price of $80. And it works perfectly, no issues. I definitely recommend them. ;)

I got a second power adapter for my laptop on eBay for $20 (just search model of laptop + power cord or something to that effect), and it works perfectly. A replacement from Toshiba would have been in the range of $80 to $100.
