    wd 500gb bevt drives clicking all the time

    man i hope these dont die on me.. i hear a constant and steady tick tick every maybe 10-15 seconds. all 4 i have do it in 2 different notebooks. i hope this isnt like the head parking issue in the seagates not to long ago...even tried them installed in my desktop and they do the same thing.. really annoying to be honest..

    My WD5000BEVT also ticks - quite quiet like a watch and not a big clicking noise I've heard from some HDDs. I've now been running it for two months and it has clocked up over 700 hours. The SMART data look pretty healthy.

    yeah its not really loud but its annoying none the less.. lol.. its not nearly as fast as a watch though more like as i said 10-15 seconds or so.. but it def louder than a watch but as you said not a lout click or pop...

    Try changing the AAM value with HDTune Pro for example.
