So I got a 128gB msata plextor m6m like 2 weeks ago. Just last night my lenovo locked up, frozen in windows for 30ish seconds, then blue screen. Went to reboot, and it hangs at uefi/bios loading screen, the HD light on my laptop lights up solid, and it just sits there for like 3-5 minutes before going, then it can't find a OS to boot.

Just tried to boot from my usb win7 install to try and wipe the partition and reinstall, after waiting about 5 minutes to be able to choose to boot from usb, it started loading the installer, then just hangs, been hung for like 20 minutes now, with the HD light on solid.

Did my ssd just take a crap most likely? Time to ship it off to plextor for warranty?

Sucks too cause I just wiped my old HD's win7 install directory, otherwise I could have just booted it. So time to install windows back on the HD after pulling the ssd =\

edit: btw it only had around 160gB written/read from it according to the plextor utility, and I had 30gB unpartitioned, with about 40gB free on the partitioned space

    I'm afraid that's the case.

I believe that you've received a defective drive. No more, no less.

    Good luck.

What's been fishy about Plextor? Dead controllers are the number one failure mode for all SSD's. I've had it happen to Intel, Kingston, Crucial.

    Well that sucks.
I got it to "start to boot once" which gave me hope, I just pulled it out, put it back in, and suddenly it went past the bios screen like normal, started loading windows, and froze again. Since then I haven't been able to do that again lol

Just reinstalled windows on my 320gB HD, tried to put the ssd back in, and again, freezes at bios screen forever lol.
Wish I bought that 3 year in store warranty at microcenter! Don't want to have to ship this thing off and wait ugh lol

woowee, just checked my receipt today to check purchase date, I figured it was already past 15 days (I'm not sure if I have a 15 or 30 day in store warranty)
as of today, its day 15, so I'm about to hit hte road back to micro center. Unfortunately they don't have this drive in stock, so either going to return it, try to force them into giving me a $15 more expensive msata drive for free, or maybe just get a 2.5" ssd.

2.5" would be better, as my msata port is sata 2. But I "want" to be able to have 2 1tB drives in my ultra bay and hard drive bay... Not sure I want to give up storage space

edit: Now that I'm back on my WD 320gB 7200 rpm drive though, I MISS THAT SSD SPEED! It's depressing going back. I've been getting mad at my notebook wondering why its always hanging, then I look down to see that HDD light going nuts or lit solid lol
