    the western digital passport external harddrives that presumably contain a 250gb scorpio drive are available cheaper than a plain scorpio drive, can i buy one of these and open it to pull the drive out then use the enclosure for the drive being replaced?

    Are they IDE or SATA? The earlier Passports were luck of the draw.
