    and yes.. basically a tech, port, and cable that allows the transfer of high def content (video and audio) that streams at a very high bitrate

    If I'm not mistaken, it allows you to view at 1080p

    yes, 1080p (1920 x 1080 pixels at progressive scan, not interlaced) will run depending on the type of television you have.

    Basically its like DVI on your monitor except it carries digital surround sound as well in the same cable. It's like combining the DVI cable and the Digital sound cable into one unit. Easier for consumers so they can just plug on cable in oppose to having the things separated. You can connect only video with it or just audio.
