ive been searching around on notebookcheck for the gamut tests (not the 1st, 2nd, 3rd or probably 4th or 5th time ive done this) and comparing with the LCD on my sony vpc z1 series. let me just post this:

now from what i'm gathering the v7 is the same as the v4 just glossy? i can't find any tests of it. and, either way, it doesn't look as good as the sony and the test shows its missing some yellows and whatnot. are there any gamut tests out there of the RGBLED displays used on the dell precision series and can these be used in other laptops?

its funny just looking at that with my 2 screens here, because i can totally tell that the b15hw01 has better bright blues and greens, but the sony totally has those deeper blues and better reds and whatnot which are so much more worth it.

    Correct.

If you're referring to Dell's IPS Premier Color panels, the answer is no, you can't use them in other laptops as far as I know.

My understanding is that not all M6600 units came IPS-equipped, but can be upgraded in order to accommodate such a panel.

You'll need a Dell expert - something that I'm not - to properly answer that question...
