I have an old P3 laptop for which I need to buy an ethernet minipci card. However I can't figure out what exactly this slot is. At the following site you can see the little white slot at the bottom of the 3rd picture:
Modem & Lan Upgrade : Notebook Kick-Off with ASUS L8400B

Can someone please help me? I [thread=515989]already posted[/thread] in the Asus forums but with no luck... Thanks in advance!

If you are talking about where the TAG says "LM0158" that looks like a memory stick slot..........

I'm going go with TANWare and say it's most likely a ram slot.

hey thanks for the answer! Indeed there is a SO-DIMM SDRAM slot but I'm talking about the slot exactly to the right of it, as you view the 3rd pic.

The card that he is holding in upright position is the LAN card I'm searching, and the white plastic at the bottom of it "locks" right into place at the slot I'm talking about.

Ok I see what you're talking about, if you ask me it's probably a proprietary connector, so the lan card would have to be from your specific notebook or a very similar one.

    But I could be wrong..

If your notebook has a PCMCIA card slot, that would be used for lan.

I have the L8400B but it lacks that ethernet card. I couldn't even find it on eBay. Thanks a lot for that link, you really helped!
