    I want 16GB on new laptop but don't know what to chose.
    2x8 or 4x4

    According to Crucial you should use 4x4.

    yeah. cheaper to buy will be 4x4 as I assume you have 4 slots. that is in case you never want more than 16GB.
    I suggest to buy 2 kits of Corsair Vengeance 1600 2x4gB.

    Unless you are planning on upgrading to 32GB RAM later down the line (Which should be possible for a 2630QM), then stick with 4x4GB - I think it's also cheaper than 2x8GB.

    Besides, I think that 16GB RAM will be more than enough for even intensive programs.

    16gigs is seriously overkill for anything Microsoft expects to release in the next few years. Windows 8 uses less resources than Windows 7 and with how things are going more and more mobile, 16gigs will probably be good for some time to come. Hardware has outstripped software by a fair margin at this point.

    My desktop has 16, and unless you have a program made specifically to use it, you won't use all of it. Most say anything over 8gigs is best used for a ramdisk.
