I use Patriot Signature Series DDR in my notebook - been working for about 9 months now without a single issue! No heat ups, very fast, and reliable.

    100% recommended :D

A slightly higher chance it won't work. Worst case is you'll have to send it back.

It probably won't be as reliable as the better known brands but performance wise it shouldn't make a difference.

A timing of 2-2-2-5 is excellent, that's about as fast as you can get.

Patriot makes great memory, and their extreme performance series for notebooks is sweet. I'll probably be picking up some for my notebook.

I picked up a gig of patriot 200-pin DDR333 PC2700 a few months back and it works and performs flawlessly. I would recommend. ;)
