I wonder what you got after the update intel SSD.
What does it promise to us? and What did we get?
Could you give us information by benchmarking or something else you know better?
thanks

Commander Wolf can i haz broadwell?
You get TRIM among other things... but the G2 is generally fast enough that you probably won't notice a difference with or without it. If you have a 160GB G2 you also get increased sequential write speeds... this one might be a bit more noticeable, but I doubt too many people are hitting that original 70MB/s sequential write speed too often.

here is the benchmark just after i bought the intel 80 GB X25-M with 60 gb free of 75 GB (i bought it 20 days ago)
Here is the benchmark just after update with new firmware with 40 gb free of 75 GB
Here is the benchmark 10 hours after the update with 40 gb free of 75 GB

Looks like 4K writes took a massive hit.

that's right , but it is even better than other SSD.
and you can get that speed if you format the drive, i wish there is another way to do that

Well I already posted it in SSD thread, but I'll repost it here for you. Intel 160GB G2:

new firmware promises more seq. write performance for intel 160 GB SSD
and i do not understand the reason why it is not for intel 80 GB :S , intel also did not say anything about that. -

i read so many things about TRIM.
it works when you delete a file.
so i made my SSD 1gb free of 75 gb by copying 40 gb files
then i deleted them and rebooted computer.
then again benchmarked , so i got this. it works

Anybody who recently bought a 160GB Intel drive got the "old new firmware" - so the write/read speed point is relative...
That would also mean my drive should have Trim hardwarewise...
(Where is the toolbox!)
what you get after update intel SSD
