On cpu-z it says that my chipset is GM45/GM47.

Adunno of Toshiba whitelists CPUs but theoretically it can handle all 1066 Core 2 Duo and Core 2 Extremes.

    Things to consider/verify......

    a) socket
    b) chipset
    c) bios support including the possibility of whitelisting
    d) heat budget/heat sink of the chassis
    e) power capabilities of the mobo dc/dc components

If you don't know the very basics don't mess up with the upgrade. I am sure you will screw things up.

can u first check what chipset you have? Post a screenshot of CPU-Z which shows your chipset info... and oh yes , its quite a hard thing to do to upgrade the CPU in a laptop so read up a lot or your going to mess it up.
