As the title says, what's the difference between ATA-6 an IDE Ultra ATA100? I'm asking this because i'm going to be building a barebone laptop (Asus Z96F) for my friend soon and i'm not sure if this certain HDD will work with it. Here's a link to the laptop spec page: http://store.agearnotebooks.com/asusz96fspec.html
and then the HDD link: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16822146041
So are the two compatible? Thanks!

Practically nothing, either will work. The drive from NewEgg will work fine.
