besides like the small ghtz difference. is there secret archetecture or something that makes it better? because im ordering from aw and i got the q9100 because aw doesnt allow ocling so the unlocked multipliuer doesnt mean anything. and i don't feel like paying 430 extra dollars for .26 ghtz. so ya?

The qx9300 has an unlocked multiplier and a 1x higher stock multiplier, so the qx9300 is going to be faster. If you want the best 24" LCD, the T240 is the best bang for the buck, and for quad cores, its probably the q9100 at the moment.

Its going to be more than powerful enough, so just get the cheapest quadcore available.

No. A Quad-Core such as the Q9100 @2.26GHz, will be better than a X9000 OCed, in multi-threaded apps.
And it is better to get the base QC, in order to ensure your chances of upgrading to a better Penryn QC in the future....

alienware does not allow for overclocking, like most vendors. The only way people overclock their processors, are through different 3rd party software, like cpu cool, clockgen, set fsb. But they only work for a very small amount of PLL (clock generators) so most likely no, you cannot overclock the cpu.

Just make sure that if you do overclock your system (graphics), make sure to overclock your T240 so that it can handle the extra framerates. Simply switch the screen from a 110Vac outlet to a 120Vac outlet, and you will get a nice overclock from your screen too

E2408WFP FTW :D Best bang for the buck 24"

*all the T240 is an inside joke between me, jellybeans and a few members*
