You can use any sort of DDR2 SODIMMs, but 667MHz will work best. An 533MHz will downclock your other stick and an 800MHz stick will downclock to 667MHz.

On oempcworld.com, you can plug in your system specs, and you will be informed what RAM is suitable.

    cheers...

The Vostro uses DDR2 200 pin SODimm @667Mhz called PC5300/5400. The Acer should be able to use the same memory but it will downclock to 400Mhz (PC3200).

    Thanks guys,
i just used cpu-z and it showed that my two 512 sticks have a DRAM frequency of 332.5 Mhz, is it ok to get a 2gb 667 stick and put it with one of the 512gbs?

whats the difference between these 2 rams?
    Transcend JetRam DDR2 PC2-5300 667MHz 2GB 200-pin SO-DIMM $43.99
    Transcend DDR2 PC2-5300 667MHz 2GB 200-pin SO-DIMM $47.99
the only difference looks like the jetram, what is that?

JetRam is a registered trademark of Transcend, in other words it does not mean anything. Here is a link with more info. It is not a technology or RAM standard.
