    why does my processor seem to be running at half the speed

    it says 1.6ghz in my mobile meter, usually was always 3200.

    n ignore the 75c, thats a fault.

    processors downclock when they are idle. it will go back up when you actually need it.

    MobileMeter has problems with reading / updating the frequency. Use the monitoring page of RMclock to see what the CPU is doing.

    It is idling. What does your BIOS say?

    Scratch that. Push your CPU to 100% by downloading Folding@home.

    Configure using the username: Surfasb and Team:32

    Run it and then let us know what your program says.

    I got it fixed. I went into bios and loaded optiminal defaults. rebooted and now its at 3200 ghz again.

    cheers guys

    wonder what caused my system to declock itself tho. as even bios initially showed the speed to 1600ghz, now its saying what it should.

    Something has put your bios in to minimal or safe defaults. It happened to me after I had a crash while overclocking the FSB.
