I've got servers at work with backup bios, some enthusiasts mobos with backup bios, mid range to high end video cards all have a jumper switch for backup bios. Some high end laptops start approaching the price of servers, so why can't they implement the same high end enterprise laptops.

My HP EliteBook 725 G2 has BIOS backup and recovery in case a BIOS flash goes wrong too.

I'm fairly certain they do have a BIOS recovery method like the crisis disk in InsydeH20 or Phoenix BIOS's. They would include a way to do it somehow.

Warranty. If you know that you can recover bios you will do so much nasty things to laptop that it may fry out like a rocket. And it is expencive to repair it for free under warranty.

ThinkPads don't, and they're still quite costly. Neither do ToughBooks as far as I know, which are even more expensive.

True. With that said, some manufacturers will swap the board under warranty after a bad BIOS flash by the end user, while others won't...and even this approach is often region-specific...
