on the gateay p-6860fx...after i reboot the computer COM+ and another service will stop responding, so ill close them but i can connect to the internet wirelessly afterwards. Network icon shows that its not connected at all. Latency for COD 4 is through the roof at 1800+ ms for even a local server.
Any ideas on what i could do to fix this? its an intel 4965 agn card.

Commander Wolf can i haz broadwell?
I'd assume that the aforementioned services are the culprit here... being able to connect to a network doesn't necessarily mean that the entire connection process is working. Ever tried restarting those services after they failed? Tried installing the latest 4965 driver?

tried restarting the services...they just continue to stop. i downloaded the latest driver from gateways website. i believe it was dated the 9th of june 08. same problem...
-
anybody? im clueless here...

its the COM+ event system and the SSDP discovery service that stops essentially at system startup if that helps anyone.
-
c'mon....no ideas from anybody? obviously it has to do with the two services being stopped, but when i restart them, they just stop again.
-
nevermind...i said screw it and reformatted the hard drive. i was tired of gateways bloatware anyways. everything works perfectly now.

There could be a variety of factors. I had connection problems with 3 different laptops. Somtimes it can be interference, while other times it could be a faulty wireless card.
wierd wireless card problem
