    Hi,

I've got a budget of 150€ to buy new RAM for my notebook so I was planning to buy 2X2GB of DDR3 but I'm worried it won't work with my laptop.
    I've got an

Asus notebook with an Intel Mobile Core 2 Duo T7300
    chipset: Intel PM965
Currently I've got 2GB of DDR2 RAM which runs at only 333 MHz at an FSB:RAM ratio of 3:5.

I've read another topic here which stated the PM965 limits the FSB to 800 and the RAM to 667. If that's true, then is it worth it to buy 1333MHz DDR3 or should I just go for 800MHz DDR2?

Also, how can I change the FSB:RAM ratio to 1:1?

    thxs,

    Pearld

If your notebook is currently using DDR2 , the DDR3 will not fit , it uses a different size slot.

    whoah, that's made it simple.
Thanks a lot. Now I at least know I should stick with DDR2.

If you put in a 533Mhz FSB CPU it will run 1:1 ratio. Not that you want that. What you may consider is trying to overclock the CPU so that your RAM would run at the higher FSB as well. See sig.
