I dunno if it is possible, but I guess if you are using a pcmcia card along with the intel, then there is no problem to face!

I have a project in mind, I wanna put a wifi amplifier inside my laptop hooked to the wireless card to extend the range... I am thinking of a 500mw amplifier...
The problem is that those are expensive and I will have to find a place for the board, besides I am busy in school now lol.

Intel 3945 a/b/g cannot compaitable with Intel 2200 b/g and 2915 a/b/g because the slot size is different between them. All the Centrino Duo Core model use Intel 3945, Penitum M only use either Intel 2200 or 2915 for Intel wireless mini pci brand.

If you combine a high power pcmcia adapter with an external antenna that has some gain, you should be able to get the same effect. I've read somewhere that there is a 300mW adapter (I have an Engenius 200mW one) but don't remember the brand. Google should turn up something.
