If you are on vista, go find a sidebar gadget for wireless connectivity. You can use netstumbler to find out what other networks nearby are on the same channel, and what their reception is. I suggest changing your router to a clear channel then retesting it.

In fact, both previous attempts by you to get help had so little actual information in it, you'd need to be Ms. Cleo to figure out what was causing the problem. No offense, but I'd rather use my psychic powers to win the lottery. ;)

In fact, I'm not trying to rag on you here, but for the amount of time you wasted here, a simple Google search for "Vista Wireless Issues" probably could have netted you an answer by now... http://www.wifimvp.com/vistawireless.htm

For starters, what brand and type of wireless router are you using? Linksys, Netgear, D-Link? What type? Wireless A, B, G, or N? (we're not going to assume that just because you have a wireless-g card in your notebook that you're using a wireless-g router). Do you live in the suburbs, or in the city?

Have you done a site survey with Netstumbler yet (as gengerald suggested above)?

Have you checked the connections on the internal wireless card to see if they're properly seated?
