I'm getting this one ( http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=32100&vpn=MHZ2320BH&manufacture=Fujitsu) since it's just as fast as the WD ones but draws only .1/.3 more watts than my current drive (Fujitsu power draw = .6 idle/1.9 read/write, my current = .5/1.6) and should be quieter than the WD.

The Fire Snake Notebook Virtuoso
Tough to say. Please provide us more information please. What re you looking for? Lots of space, speed, SSDs etc? I can say that when I look at harddrives I try to stay with offerings from Hitachi, Seagate and WD. These 3 companies seem to put out good stuff and are very popular.

I'm a Seagate man myself. I ordered a 120 gig drive from Newegg in my old Desktop, it died 2 weeks before finals. I called and was over night shipped, for free, a replacement drive and told to send back the old one as soon as my exams were over. I paid nothing for shipping and got a brand new drive in the process.
I dont' know about the rest of you guys - but I base a lot of my purchases on my own experiences with company. I'll never buy a non-Seagate drive again. -
megan001 how about the noise of the seagate? you know, i have a travelstar and i dont know why, for example if i dont do any process with the notebook(write or read) the hard drive does noise, does it happen with the seagate?
i saw a samsung at good price, how about samsung, are goods? -
Samsung makes good drives. Have a look at the Samsung HM320JI or Hitachi 5K320. They're pretty fast, cool and quiet.
I recommend you go for a 320GB because they are faster than 250GB drives.
The WD 3200BEVT is the fastest of the 320GB/5400rpm drives but takes a bit more power than average.
witch are the best hard drive ?
