i found a deal on a 22" acer lcd shipped for 170$.... but its a refurb.. what would you do thats a crazy price.. it has a 90 day warranty?? this model seems to have great reviews on the newegg web site.. thanks for any thoughts
-
Well, I don't know if I'd buy it, if only because there's only a 90 day warranty.
I just bought a 22" Acer for $190 on sale at Best Buy. $170 for a refurb doesn't sound like a great deal with sale prices like that floating around. -
wow really ill have to check bb and see what they have thanks
-
Taken from fw.
Shows up as $279.xx on their web site.
Office Depot has the Acer AL2216Wbd 22" Black Widescreen LCD for $179.03. In-store only.
Item #: 288510
Steps for checking instore prices via the online website:

4) "find a store" will come up. select the first one you want to check.
5) enter sku ###### in the search field

would you get this or anything else in this price range like the chi mei from newegg?? 209$..?? thanks
-
Well, yea, the BBY sale is over. I was just saying I'm sure you can do better. I came back here to post what Mist posted already
So there's still that deal, anyway.

will not work now.. i went back to check another price and now i cant add it for 179 only 269.. is there a way to log out of this web site?? i dont want to delete all my cookies then i have to freakin sign back in at all the forums..
-
nevermind fixed it... is this a good monitor for the price?? or like i said should i go for the chimei or spectre etc... that newegg has?? thanks again
-
mind linking to the 2 at newegg?
A lot of people seem to like it for the price and screen size, its also brand new. -
the chi mei: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824252008
a few dollars more for the chi mei but i have seen some of their laptop screens and they were awesome...
ahh the other one i was looking at is dead now they must have within the last 30 min updated their web site.. it was a spectre for 209.. again after rebates but new egg is always good with rebates from my past experiences.. -
i guess one good thing about buying it local is if it goes bad withing 30 days or i find dead pixels i can simply return it rather than shipping back and forth.. office depot SIMPLY ROCKS.. for returns i shop thier all the time...
they always have some crazy in store specials at my local one.. i picked up the hp office jet l series was 399.99 in store i found it for 199 the other day i grabbed two of them.. now back to 399... lol..
wife bought a toshiba laptop there with a core 2 duo... web site was 999.99 we went looking in the store.. they had it marked to 799.00 then there was a 200$ rebate... simply crazy price for a 2gb core 2 duo toshiba 160gb etc.... 599...
DOES ANYONE know if once i enter a local store when i shop the web site does everything at lower prices come up or do i need to put in a specific item number for that.. it seems i do since if i go back and re-add this into the cart it goes back to reg price..?? thanks again i think ill grab one of these.. cant be that bad for the price and it seems lcd's have somewhat actually gone up in the last few weeks.. -
Not sure about the local store question.
Chances are that the two models could be using the same panel since not many companies produce their own panels. As for returns/exchange, I heard that newegg does a great job with returns and what not so I would look into how your local store treats you.
In my opinion, you can't go worry with neither model and should also consider things like cosmetics and overall price. Your best bet is to read some reviews posted by others.
In the end its your call. -
picked up this screen today (acer 2216 from office depot) for our "house" system.. i have a 24" on my main office comp (home office) i can say this SCREEN ROCKS!!! colors out of the box are awesome for a screen of this price.. i used color pro to calibrate it and now its even better id say comparable with screens costing at least double this.. viewing angle for this type of screen is very very good.. whites are very clean and nice and white.. the only thing i would have liked is a glossy finish for where this screen is.. but whetever..
if you have any doubts about this screen for 179...DONT GO RUN TO A NEARBY STORE AND BUY ONE BEFORE THEY ARE GONE AT THIS PRICE.. i can say one of the best purchases ive made in a while...
my 24" screen is a nec btw and this is not the caliber of that its damn close enough for the money -
Glad to hear that you like it.
Off topic but do you think something like the spyder calibrator is worth it? Noticeable difference before and after? -
I would seriously look at other makers of LCD's. I had a 22" acer on trial from my local store, it was not as good as my 17" LG "normal" LCD. I picked up an HP w2207 and it destroys the acer in every way. I would seriously save up the extra coin to get that if I were you. much better image quality.
would you buy a refurb 22" lcd for 170$ shipped??
