    There are no 2.5" 200 GB single HD currenty selling. My guess it will be next year.

    At release, $600+ isn't surprising.

    The 120gb 7200rpm debuted at $450 I believe...

    Seems they will try to start producing them in August, I think we might start seeing a few before the years end.

    But at the prices coriolis pointed out, it probably wouldn't be worth it for the average consumer.

    wow $600, you can get 2 to 3 100GB hard drive for external storage, it seems to be worth.

    cuz you know in just a few months, it's going to be no bid deal and something bigger will have replaced it.

    truth is, Hard Drives are the worst to jump on early and pay a premium. The prices fall so quickly and the fact is that a 200 GB HD will always be a 200 GB HD. it's not like you can upgrade the part to be bigger, you just have to chuck it and buy a new one.

    I don't really need that much storage and I'd like more speed. Its definetly expensive.
