Ok, so the x3100 supports direct x10, and is supposedly efficient with vista.
What about the radeon xpress 1150? I don't think it supports direct x10, but was it built with vista in mind. I seen a turion 64x2 at 2ghz, 2gig ram, with the "selectable up to 256 meg in BIOS", radeon xpress 1150. i am interested..
    Any comments?
remember this machine will never see a video game or graphic intensive program.

Doesnt really matter if you are not gaming. Both run Vista as well as any integrated graphics. Vista(Aero) is not too demanding as long as it meets the minimum requirements. What are the specs for the x3100 based system? If it is anything over the C2D T5470 or over and if teh other components(RAM, HDD..) are equal then pick the X3100 based system.
