hi i just bought my 1530 and it has a while before its shipped but my question is: i picked the standard Dell Wireless 1395 802.11g Mini Card for the wireless card and i just recently read that they can be problematic compared to the intel cards. so its too late to change my order and i cant really afford the 60 dollar upgrade right now anyways, but my question is later when i get it and have some extra cash will i be able to purchase the intel or similar better card and put it in afterwards? and if so will it void my 4 year warranty and where could i find such a thing?? thank you.

You will be able to swap the wireless card given that you can find a compatible unit from elsewhere. You can probably get one on ebay or even straight from Dell if you wish. Dell has a good service manual detailing how to get the old card out and how to put the new card in. I don't think it should void your warranty unless the new card becomes a source of whatever problem you may encounter, but don't quote me on that.
I don't think you should worry about the Dell card, though. My old 500m had a Dell wireless card and it worked fine for all of its five years. -
ok and fyi its an internal card not an external card, the express bus will be empty and im trying 2 avoid having anything sticking out such as a external wifi card, i want it to remain flush as it is. do you think that it will even be necessary to swap it out or will it be fine??

If you're asking whether you can use a PCMCIA card and leave the internal card in the machine, the answer would be yes. Whether you can find a PCMCIA card that doesn't stick out... the answer is probably no.
It's a much more elegant solution to swap the internal card; I don't know why you'd want to get an external card instead. -
oh no i was saying that i wanted 2 swap out the internal card and that i dont want anything external sticking out. im gonna install the intel card when i get money. thanks again everyone
