Did you record what else it said in the error report? Sounds like the dreaded "blue screen of death." It can happen for a lot of reasons... overheating, driver problems, ex... What were you doing at the time when you got the blue screen?

I noticed it first when I booted up a day ago. I thought it could be some software I loaded, so I unloaded that. I still got it again today, though.

The only thing I can think is that in an attempt to get some junk of the new computer I deleted an important file on accident.

Is there any way to do a quick scan of the program that will tell me whether any important files are missing? And then a way to get them back on. Also, I noticed that my xpsm140 did not come with a driver/software recover disk. I know there is a partition with stuff like that but I am clueless how that works.

If you have the XP disk, you can repair windows and that might solve the problem. It would repair any damage that might have occurred, but it won't delete any of your files.

Call dell or chat with them, and request it. If you want to reformat your laptop, you might as well request the Cyberlink PowerDVD and Sonic RecordNow disks also.
