I'm pondering the installation of a new screen for my Lenovo Ideapad y400. The hardware is excellent, but the low quality, low resolution panel really takes a toll on the it's usability. I wanted to know if there are any recommended replacement panels that are high quality and higher resolution (1080p preferably).
So far the only 14" panel I've seen that may work is that of the Thinkpad T440s:
IBM-Lenovo THINKPAD T440S 20AQ005SUS Notebook Display Replacement | LAPTOP & TABLET LCD SCREEN FROM $34.99.
I'm out of my element regarding laptop panels however so any help is appreciated.

Errrrr anyone?

Y400 uses LVDS, and to my knowledge there are no FHD LVDS panels, so you will need to use a 900p one (the screens from the Razer Blade and Lenovo Y410p work).

Hello, I'm curious if you know these screens will work or if you are making an assumption? I just purchased an au optronics b140rw02 v2 which is a 900p matte screen with the same position mounting brackets and LVDS connection but after getting everything put back together it appears that every other line is white. I'm not crazy about having to take the thing completely apart again but it looks like that is what I will have to do. I just figured if you know these work I would potentially swap to one of them instead. Thanks.

you are probably using an LVDS cable with lower specs than required by the screen.
