tilleroftheearth Wisdom listens quietly...
Too little information provided...
But I would remove both.
More information needed:
Your typical usage model.
Amount of data you need with you/always.
Amount of programs (file sizes) you install/need.
An actual budget so the recommendations are applicable to you.
And any other information you can provide would help (really!) to give you the best advice. -
i just want the apps and os to be as fast as possible
i am an architect and i do some light gaming
i use programs like cad and 3dmax
if i m keeping the hdd and removing the 16 g msata i guess i ll need about 250+ g ssd -

An SSD doesn't speed up CADD or 3DMax significantly, having enough RAM does.
While the responsiveness of the O/S and your programs will benefit from an SSD - I would suggest you get at least 16GB of the fastest RAM you can afford (at least PC3 12800).
See:
Side-by-Side CAD demo Intel SSD 520 vs. HDD - YouTube
In the above video, you see that the Intel 520 SSD 'beats' the 10K HDD by 3 minutes... but that is because the system is not properly configured and is only running 6GB of RAM (duh).
Also, while the processor is very capable (6 core, 12 threads...) it is still a two and a half year old platform they're testing the SSD vs. HDD on (Q1 2011 release date).
Gaming: I'll ignore (sorry, no interest)...
but to have the fastest computer possible today, you need (in order):
Windows 8 x64 Pro
16GB RAM OR MORE
SNB or IB or Haswell platform (latter preferred, of course).
An 'A' class SSD like the new SanDisk Extreme II (240/256GB or larger).
And some or all of these suggestions too:
See:
http://forum.notebookreview.com/solid-state-drives-ssds-flash-storage/718208-asus-ux32vd-db71.html
(See the whole thread above - it's short).
Hope this helps.
Good luck. -
it helped
the model i m getting has 16 g of ram
an i7 ivy bridge quad ( not haswell)
win 8
1 tb of hdd 5400 rpm and 16 g ssd
so the remaining thing is the ssd
i guess i ll be good with any 250+ ssd and for the price range it s 200-150 -
