I've been reading the forum for a while now trying to decide on a notebook, i was sold on the z71v for a while, until the macbook pro was announced, i immideately ordered one but then after thinking about it for a while i couldn't spend almost 1000 more and only get a better processor (for the most part). anyway i ordered my z71v with a 1.86 pentium m 750, 1 gig ddr2, 80gb 7200rpm, second battery kit yadda yadda yadda, but anyway my question is this - to everyone who has a z71v and overclocked it using a 400mhz fsb processor, any abnormalities, problems, anything worth mentioning? by the way i orderedthe pentium m 745 in hopes of overclocking it to 2.3ghz i believe. thanks any help would be appreciated. ah yes one more thing - what are some of the essential progs i might want to get for this thing - outside of daemon alcohol nero and that stuff?:asus:

Are you using the pin out mod for the pentium m overclock? I would say stick to the alcohol 120%, nero, and would go over to ( http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=32000). That is the best place to find all the programs you need.

actually i'm using the dipstick switch which changes the fsb from 400 to 533. thanks for the link

I'd check the threads over at the Z71v forums, I don't recall the exact domain name though...
Do a google search on it, should find it then
