I have a zbook 17 g2 that has a SSD hard drive and I want to add a second 7200 rpm hard drive.
Will any internal 2.5 9.5mm hard drive ordered off the internet work?
It came with a bracket, so I have that, but will I need anything else like a connector cable?
(Or would once in the bracket, would it plug right in?)
Thanks!

Open up the unit to verify the connector is there (in this model, I assume it would be, but that is not true of all multi-bay notebooks).
Not any 2.5" 9.5mm HDD will work. Standard SATA and power connections a must.
(Not trying to be funny; you can get drives with proprietary connectors...).
Good luck.

Thanks! The connectors are there and look just like this video (minus the hdds):
The question is how does one know if a hard drive comes with the Standard SATA and power connection?
Are you aware of some brands that definitely are standard? -

Great to see the electrical connections are there!
Potentially all brands are 'standard'. You need to be sure they are labeled as 'SATAII/III'.
zbook add new hard drive
