Ok i recently just got this laptop from ebay. I installed windows xp then service pack 3 all drivers and everthing are all set the wifi works fine. my problem is the switch i can turn the wifi off but not back on. lets say i push it off then its off and i push it to turn if back on it wont come on but if i close it and open it itll turn on but if i turn it off then press back on then press back off then close and reopen it it wont turn back on so its virtualy switched on but nothing changes untill i put it to sleep and open it back up again. right now the wifi is off nothing is working its annoying because i wanted to rejoin my wifi from my cell phone internet but it wont come back on. does anyone know what might be causing this and possibly any solutions. also do you think this is software or hardware related because im going to sell this motherboard and need to have it 100% functonal.

The problem is the latest driver provided via window update for the Broadcom 802.11 radio (dated October 2006) breaks the wifi button. When this driver is installed pressing the wifi button (just above the F8 key) which changed from lighted blue (on) to off will turn off the radio off for ever!!!!

If your roll the driver back via the device manager to the driver which is dated October 28, 2003 (Driver version 3.40.25.3) the button works perfectly for both on and off. :D
