    zv6000 CPU upgrade

    I want to know if anyone has tried to upgrade their zv6000 CPU and what version of bios was used. I am debating if I should try out my 3800+x2. I heard you can 'brick' your zv6000 if you tried the x2 cpu. :confused: I have already upgraded my CPU from the 3500+ to the FX-55 using the latest bios F.1C. The FX-55 is detected as 'Unknown CPU/19200 Mhz' :eek: in the bios, but XP and cpu-z identifies it as an FX-55/2600 Mhz. :cool: The FX-55 seems to be running okay so far. :D What happened to the zv6000 forums - notebookanalysis.com :confused: ??

    It is not possible to put an Athlon X2 in your zv6000, even though it is Socket 939. There is no BIOS upgrade which would allow it to be installed. Someone had tried to do it before.
    Very nice CPU. :)

    Seems like your only upgrade is a 939 Opteron or the FX-57.

    Well I have tried to get 3800+ X2 to identify 2 cores. I only get one core :mad: I have tried all the different versions of BIOS(F.14 to F.1C) and reinstalled XP and they all don't work. They all only see ONE CORE. If you have a zv6000 and installed an xxxx+ X2 cpu and got it to work with BOTH cores, I want to know how you did it!! I am about to give up with the 3800+ X2 and reinstall the FX-55. BTW the FX-55 does about 1:30 on the super PI 2M while the 3800+ X2 using a single core does 1:56.

    Does the 939 dual core Opteron work? Have you tried it? The FX-55 works.

    I don't think you can run a dual core processor with any of the available BIOSes. Maybe if you can find a generic BIOS or something really fancy of this kind...(like editing the BIOS ...?)

    Btw, I heard one of the Mods from Notebookanalysis (Paskev) was currently seen at www.notebookforums.com. Maybe he can help
