    8440p's fan and battery life

    Hi all, my elitebook's just 2 days old, find that 6-cell battery life's short like about 2 hours, but in some independent reviews, they said it's about 4 hours, is this normal? how do you measure the battery life? with high performance or...?
    on the other hand, just to confirm is your fan keeping working? a bit noisy to me compare with Dell D630... looking forward to your replies, many thanks!

    What are you doing on your notebook? Typically, max battery life is achieved when you disable hardware that's not in use and lowering brightness to the lowest setting. What are your notebook specs?

    Didn't really time the battery life, but my 9 cell last > 5 hours watching movie. Most of the time working will be plug in. But I notice, when I plug in my external monitor, wireless keyboard, wireless mouse, etc running on battery, it drains out quicker.

    you can find out by going to hp diagnostics problem and test the battery out to see if it pass or fail
