Hi all.
Jus received a new EliteBook 8540p WH130AW
I installed 8GB RAM and 2 Intel X25-M SSD's. 1 x 120GB in the the Internal HD bay as a Boot disk, and 1 x 160GB in the upgrade bay for data.
Did a fresh install of Windows 7 Ultimate X64. All Drivers/bios/programs installed in latest versions from the HP Support Site
Everything works fine. Notebook boots swiftly and connects to wireless, and generally performs very well![]()
But there is a delay of approximately 2 minutes before the HP Wireless assistant starts up. (Meaning it starts up - and announces the status of the radios when the notebook has been running for about 2 minutes)
Does anyone have an explanation/solution to this ??

Found it
The startup of the wireless Assistant is done with a program called DelayedStarter.exe - so it by design.
Guess this is new in the version 4. series of Wireless Asssistant. I use version 3.50.12.1 on my ProBook -and there startup is via the normal exe file. -
yea, it's delayed now because the UN2400/2420 broadband cards take longer to initialise than the wireless/bluetooth cards.
It's annoying but it does fix problems with those of us that have the cards.
