I found this:
http://www.hp.com/sbso/solutions/pc...al_innovations/hp-professional-innovation.pdf
Could the 8760w be pictured on the first page? In any case, the 8760w is mentioned in this document, together with the also unannounced 8560w.
We are definately getting closer to an official announcement.

I don't think it is the 8760w on the first page, it looks smaller and no point stick, 3rd mouse button missing and second line of mouse buttons...
-
If that is the 8760w it does not look bad (or not as bad as 8560p). It does look 16:9 aspect ratio to me sadly... Now I only need info about what firepro card it gets. If 6970 based I will be intrested. If 6870 or worse I will pass.
-
It will also get the new Quadro 3000M and 4000M with Optimus I guess. I am not sure how good this Optimus works, so.
-
Optimus is great in theory. But I heard so much bad about it, I will not buy my next notebook with it. If for 2-3 years I will hear that it is problem free, I will consider it. But not for now.
-
If it's not the 8760w in the picture, then it's the 8560w, because Probooks looks different, both models are mentioned though...
-
well, i'm going to be skipping this refresh until next year. The company are not interested after the fact they had to lose about $100,000 worth of business in notebooks with SB that have had to be sent back due to the chipset issue, (and no they weren't HP).
-
As you have 8740w, I would say it is completely logical to wait for the ivy bridge refresh if you dont really need the plus cpu power. Even I think about that with my ancient 8510p.
-
Nah, if that's a 8760w on the first page, than HP is using a single fan cooling again...
-
How can you see that ?
-
Looks more like 17" ProBook to me.
-
Edit: I think it's definitely a 8760w on the first picture. The lid and hinges have a new design (is it me or does it look like the lid won't open all the way to 180 degrees), no lid locks and no touch stick. -
http://www.hp.com/sbso/solutions/pc...al_innovations/hp-change-the-way-you-work.pdf
have you guys checked this pdf ?
here´s a far better resolution of the smaller modell. when you zoom in you can guess what´s written on the right side of the display. the letters seem to indicate that this is the probook... if my eyes aren´t too bad (-; -
-
-
I have to agree with you here. For me 17" meant Elitebook till I noticed that Probooks also have 17" models, heh.
Yes, there is a new design for the whole line. Can't wait to see some tests and detailed specs. -
I don't see the logic here, if the 8460p and the 8560p still have real 180° hinges, why would a much more expensive model go with such a budget design and hinges?
There are many who doesn't seem to like the latest aluminium models, but at least they don't look cheap, IMO.
If the 8760W shows up with a design similar to the 8560p, but with a dark gun metal color like the 8740w, then I think it would look awesome.
I think this is also the most likely design and color choice. -
Yeah, I'm thinking of painting my 8740w in black metallic, the new models colors look great!
-
i'm thinking of painting my 8740w 2 tone metallic purple and gold, but lol, i would get some serious looks if i had to return it to hp >.>
-
We can order additional palmrest, touchpanel and lid back panel for experiments
-
already done aiki
just waiting for the car body shop to do the spray.
will post piccies in a week or two, if i can be bothered lol -
Wow, you're fast!
-
Anyone have an idea when the new workstations will be announced ?
-
any possible update on this?
-
Yes, they will be available in June.
Elitebooks 8560w and 8760w. -
What I see it looks that they will have island keyboards?
-
Yeah, I think they will look like the new Elitebooks just with a darker chassis and even better specs, like Dreamcolor panels.
-
I am afraid you are right. It is not wort of waiting for me, island keyboard = no-no
-
-
I've noticed that not all "isolated" keyboards are the same.
Some early/cheap isolated-key keyboards have flat key-tops, so my fingers tended to wander, with nothing to keep them in the center of the keys.
Good keyboards have keys with concave key-tops, and some recent isolated-key keyboards now have concave key-tops. It is subtle, but it makes a big difference to me.
(A possible benefit isolated keyboards is to reduce the tendency for hair and lint to accumulate between/under the keys. Another benefit is to block backlighting if the keyboard has backlighting. A possible detriment is that it is harder to pop-off the key-tops if you want to rearrange some keys, either because you customized the keyboard layout, or to swap fresh keys for frequently used keys whose mechanisms are wearing/worn out.)Last edited by a moderator: Jan 29, 2015 -

Great, my source was correct then.
-
Could you please provide a link I did not find it.
Firepro M5950 would be great disapointment (same as 8560w?).
Or to be positive, if it is a strong card (like the firepro in 8740w) it is great to have it in 8560w -
8760w online now:

Damn, they dropped the excellent 1680x1050 screen. -
Thx for the link.
Yeah, goodbye 16:10. 1600:900 is what you get...
I should have bought that firepro wsxga+ 8740w as long as it was on stock in my country (in 1 shop only..., all others only sell them with quadro 2800) ... -
-
yeah, HP prefers NVIDIA...
here's a picture
found here HP EliteBook 8760w Mobile Workstation overview - HP Small & Medium Business products -
More info at the first post of this thread.

dislike: AMD gpu downgrade, 16:9, 2-tone looks from light gray parts, presumably harder to get inside given island keyboard
like: keyboard should have no flex issues, dark gray or black looks cool, physical buttons for volume etc. -
Unless the M5950 is an upgrade and there is no M8900...or the M8900 is coming later????
Tell me which one is which HP otherwise i'm sticking with the 8740w... -
I would love to have Optimus on this, to reduce fan noise in idle or light work, but I don't see any indication about Optimus in the specs, or am I missing something?
-
good questions, I don't know if the integrated graphics needed for Optimus is part of the card or not. Anybody knows?
-
BTW, here you can find a video
HP EliteBook 8760w Details, Specs and Pricing (Hands On Video) -
if I understood the guy in the video correctly, they are not using integrated graphics at all so I guess this means no Optimus
-
niffcreature ex computer dyke
Really wondering how the cooling will be with that 5010m.
I guess the 8740w with 3800m could be a good indicator? -
Double tapping the touchpad to disable/enable it didn't quite work as the presenter expected. "You're going to edit that out, right?".
-
In html code was with prepared java-applet which installs some sh*t on computer. As usually site with that crap is in russia, host from link: sprgh.ru -
I don't know (and don't want to try) but here is an alternative source for the video
YouTube - HP EliteBook 8460w, 8560w, 8760w Mobile Workstations -
So they'll be available in May, but anybody know when they'll start shipping?
