Hey im having hard time deciding between these 2. I need durability and quality laptop. They both have same specs but elitebook is more expensive. Is it worth extra cost? Why?

ProBooks, Vostros and ThinkPad E series are entry-level business laptops
EliteBooks, Latitudes and ThinkPad T/X series are high-end business laptopsVasudev likes this. -
What does that mean? What makes elitebook highend over probook? Both have mil-std-810 testing so guess both are similar durablility?
Thanks -

Materials (build quality) are different, cooling, fan noise, keyboard/trackpad quality, screen quality (colour accuracy, colour deviation, brightness), additional features like 10-bit screens (HP DreamColour), more security features, larger batteries and etc. Also better support and, usually, NBD service.Hollo321 likes this. -
Thanks. Ill get the elite

I've been pretty happy with my ProBook. My biggest complaint so far is the metal keyboard deck is cold until it warms up. Most business class notebooks are well built, even if some use more plastic or are a bit more chunky. If you have a problem down the road, it's probably bad luck more than anything else. I'd rule out 450 due to the craptacular screens offered on them. I believe the 850 does offer an IPS option, but it's not the DreamColor.
If it were my money, I'd hit the Dell Outlet and look for a Latitude E5570 or 5580 with the 1080 matte IPS screen. They're solid notebooks and Latitude support is quite good. I'm thinking you can get one starting around $600, which should come in under the 850 price wise.don_svetlio likes this.
Probook 450 vs elitebook 850
