i have an problem and hope some pro can help me with this.
i buyed last week from ebay an elitebook 8460p for cheap but i get f...ck.
the leds are working and i hear the fan goes on but no screen nothing and the seller is gone no contact or what ever so this my problem now.
i bringed the laptop to a technician and he said that "probably" the bios is corrupted and must rewrite the bios chip!!
so my question is now have someone a good bios file for me to rewrite the chip?????

8460P came out in May 2010 so the unit would still be under warranty. Suggest ring HP to get it repaired.

Found a thread a while ago where they had a method to recover from a "bad" BIOS (doing some experiments with the whitelist). You might want to have a look at the thread, it COULD work if your problem is bios-related. I never tried any of the recovery methods suggested, so use it at your own risk. Also, make sure you use the correct BIOS version.
