The only question I have it they tell you to place it where the fans blow up into the notebook... I always thought the air should be suck away from notebook?

Actually since the internal fans already suck air into the bottom and blow it out the back, you do not want to go against this flow as it would be counter productive.
As for the reason why they blow air into the laptop, in my opinion, it doesn't really matter if you suck the air out or blow the air through as long as you are helping the internal fans do their job and not going against their flow. -
That makes sense. I positioned one of the two 7" fans under the fan on notebook and it is working pretty good as with 4-5 browser pages open, the temps are normally in the 48-52 C. Now they stay between 35-40 C. BIG improvement!!!
