i recently disabled the option in the BIOS for "Fan Always On" and im just doing regular web surfing and itll be dead silent but itll come on every 30 seconds and its really annoying, sometimes even when its idle it does that, is there a fix for that or is that how it was made?

Contact the great HP tech support ;) lol I had this issue. It was fixed when I swapped the laptop, actually that is what they will advise you to do.

Really? I was sure that was a design flaw due to the afterthought of a "cooling system."
