Hello, does anyone have experience with hooking up their computers to an external monitors over HDMI?

The service manual says that the max resolution over HDMI is 1080p, the ATI support site says that the 5830 supports 1920x1200 over HDMI.

I am trying to find out what is the biggest monitor I can drive with my laptop. I had my eyes on the U2711 but seeing the limitations above I don't think I can take full potential out of the monitor. If I can drive a 1920x1200 monitor I will have to go with the Dell U2410. Anyone tried any of the two with the Envy 15?

    Thank you.

I think DP, Mini-DP and HDMI should be able to handle 2560 × 1600

    What resolution are you running it on? 1920 x 1200 or 1920 x 1080?
