Just want to reduce temperature. It's good to disable some core ? Any idea ?

That looks real bad , anyway I figured the method to disable the cores although it seems promising but it doesnt help much...
-
No point disabling cores since the i7 overclocks and undevolts itself on its own. And contact HP! You shouldn't have to live with a shoddy keyboard.

Star Forge Quaggan's Creed Redux!
Get that repaired as soon as you can.

My S key does the same thing. And this is already a replacement keyboard. I had it maybe 3 weeks, not liking this.

I have an i7 envy, while the machine runs hot, I havent had any issues with the processor. The palm rest gets decently warm but never too much, just dont touch the vent or bottom and you will be fine.
-
Well I have a cooler underneath so it does its job pretty well, on the otherhand just overclock your GPU to 150/250 on startup and when you need to do serious GPU demanding programs or games, choose another profile. If you need help doing this , tell me

kyosan, I highly suggest contacting HP and asking for a replacement unit. Keyboard should not do that. Those keys are defective, therefore need replacement.
About heat, have you cleaned your Envy off all bloatware? Are you running processes on the back? What BIOS are you running? I suggest updating to the last one.
Disabling cores won't do any good, sorry. It will only slow your i7 down. Intel designed it so it sets the cores to a ultra-low state, where they are near 0 usage at idle. Disabling them won't work much, as the heat will be the same, but with an impact on performance when needed.
My suggestion is to use it on hard surfaces, and make sure nothing obstructs the vents on the front and underneath. -
Just try to disable some core, no problem with CPU
But a big problem with keyboard -
That is still wrong. Contact your local HP and tell them you need a replacement.
[Envy15] Keyboard problem ? It's good to disable some core ?
