    Hi guys,

I have a HP dv6t Select Edition (3XXX series) laptop and it currently has the 1366x768 resolution display. I was wondering that is there a way to upgrade my display to Full HD panel. Is there any guides or tutorials on this? and what display part works and stuff like that? I've searched the forums.

    Thanks

Check my signature for HP DV6T Display Replacement, that should give you some hints in how to change the display but that one if for the dv6t (6000 series). But hope that helps.

Yeah I saw that post. I am thinking that the parts might be only for 6000 series. Not really sure. So I made this thread if somebody with 3000 series done an upgrade. Thank tho.

Ok I would suggest checking your manual on how to open up the computer, there should be a video on youtube on opening the dv6t up and I think it is the 3000 series. I would suggest contacting: Dinodan as he also was interested in changing the screen and mentioned that he would try it but hasn't replied back to the thread.

Also this video might help HP Pavillion dv6 complete disassembly and reassembly. 2011 Laptop - YouTube

I too want to upgrade my dv7 4xxx display, dv7 4xxx and dv6 3xxx are contemporary generations, so I'm interested in your attemp.
In my case, mine came with 1600x900 display, and officially hp didnt carry dv7s with 1080p (lame, 900p was the only option available). Don't know if I could use 1080p display from old envy 17 1xxx series, or current dv7 6xxx. I want a 1080p matte panel.
However, there are things yet I dont know if I'll need (like FHD cable), I'll be happy to see how things go with your upgrade.

From the threads I've read you do not need the FHD cable if you have the DV7T. You just need to get the screen. I cannot find a cheaper screen so I haven't bought one yet it seems like it is in the $200+ range...
